Following the huge success of The Creation, The Seasons paints an evocative picture of life in the region where Haydn grew up and worked.
Along with the choir, which in turn praises God and takes on the roles of peasants, hunters and drinkers, three solo singers portray the characters of country-folk and a wonderful orchestral accompaniment depicts each season in turn.
